Pianist Andréa Petrity and saxophonist/clarinet player Frank Rackow have developed a rare musical rapport through years of working as a duo, and in larger ensembles. They will take us on a musical journey filled with beautiful melodies, adventurous harmonies and exotic rhythms, always with an emphasis on playful improvisation. Jazz, with touches of Klezmer, folk and Latin music, and featuring original compositions from both musicians.
Andréa Petrity (piano) is an in-demand accompanist and has released two recordings with her own trio. Her second CD, What If I, won the YYCMusic award in 2020 for jazz album of the year.
Frank Rackow has performed at clubs and festivals across Canada with jazz, folk and world music artists. He leads the klezmer group, The Black Sea and is the founding director of the Vocal Latitudes Choir.
