Since 2011, Calgary Concert Opera Company has presented 9 different operas in concert format which included over 65 opera singers from all over Canada and collaborations with Toronto’s Opera by Request, Foothills Philharmonic Opera Chorus, Rocky Mountain Symphony Orchestra and 12 Musas Flamenco.
For their ProArts@Noon concert on Aug 28, 2019, Calgary Concert Opera and Foothills Philharmonic Opera Chorus come together again to perform excerpts from Carmen and from their upcoming performance in September of Saint-Saëns’ most popular opera in the french repertory, Samson et Dalila.
Tenor Dan Rowley and mezzo sopranos Barbara King and Alicia Woynarski join forces to tell this story of love, passion and betrayal. Also featuring Adam Brousseau as the High Priest, Uwe Dambruch as the Old Hebrew, tenors Valentin Borsu and Oliver Munar and the bass-baritones of the Foothills Philharmonic Opera Chorus. Accompanying us on the piano is Eleanor May and Oliver Munar.
