CASSA student piano recital

CASSA_Logo_OG14The Calgary Arts Summer School Association (CASSA) started some twenty years ago with the brilliant idea of providing a summer workshop for piano students. Designed for fun and education for a wide range of interests and ages; C.A.S.S.A. now boasts an excellent faculty of professional performing artists who offer seven fine arts courses and workshops plus an annual recital!

Todays concert features two student classical pianists from the Calgary Arts Summer School Association: Georgeanne van Helden and Jonah van Helden.

15-year pianist Georgeanne van Helden successfully completed her ARCT in Piano Performance in August 2015 as a student of Linda Kundert-Stoll. Throughout Goergeanne’s ten years of study, she has participated in the Calgary Performing Arts Festival, the Canadian Music Competition, the Contemporary Showcase, the Alberta Piano Teachers Association Festival, and the Alberta Performing Arts Festival. She has won numerous scholarships and a medal at the Calgary Performing Arts Festival. In 2015, Georgeanne won the Sharon Cook plaque at the Alberta Music Festival Association.

13 year old pianist Jonah van Helden is currently working towards his ARCT in Piano Performance. Jonah has won 3 medals and many scholarships throughout his 8 years of study. He has participated in the Calgary Performing Arts Festival, the Canadian Music Competition, the Contemporary Showcase, and the Alberta Piano Teachers Association Festival for many years. Jonah has been a National Finalist in the Canadian Music Competition 2 times.
