The ProArts Society is pleased to announce a unique series of concerts featuring Calgary artists performing Choral Music repertoire.

Studies show that choral singing improves our mood, with a decrease in stress , depression and anxiety .
These effects are often attributed to the deeper breathing associated with singing, that is also used in meditation.~Artistworks.com

Long time PA@N audience members Gene and Elizabeth Maurice recently awarded Calgary’s.
ProArts Society funding to undertake the 2019 Choral Music Concert Series, which will feature a diverse selection of Choral Music genres. This special series will be part of the ProArts@Noon weekly schedule of Wednesday concerts.
Now in its seventeenth season, the ProArts@Noon Concert Series are free, noon hour concerts presented by the ProArts Society, who rent the historic Cathedral Church in the heart of Calgary’s
Cultural District to present their weekly concerts.

One Voice Chorus – January 23, 2019
One Voice Chorus (OVC) is an auditioned mixed-voice choir for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, two- spirit, and queer singers and their straight and cisgender allies. OVC enjoys a wide-ranging repertoire:
from classical to jazz, from madrigals to show tunes, and more! Founded in 2011 by Cora Castle and Artistic Director Jane Perry, One Voice Chorus offers two concerts each season in collaboration with guest artists. www.onevoicechorus.ca

Calgary Burns Club Singers – February 13, 2019
The Singers, who are all members of the Calgary Burns Club, started in 1994 to provide entertainment to Club members at their regular meetings. The initial focus was to sing the songs of Robert Burns and other traditional songs of Scotland, and while that focus remains, the singers also now sing a variety of other types of song that will entertain our listeners. www.calgaryburnsclub.com

Collegium Musicum – Early music chorus – April 10, 2019
Collegium Musicum is the University of Calgary’s ensemble dedicated to the study and performance of early music (usually meaning music from Bach’s time and before.)
Made up of 18 singers and instrumentalists from across the University of Calgary, Collegium Musicum is delighted to present some of our work from this term for the Pro Arts Society. Vocal Latitudes World Music Choir – May 15, 2019
Vocal Latitudes is a non-audition, community choir in Calgary, Alberta.
Want to experience the benefits of singing in a welcoming vocal community?  Vocal Latitudes may be the choir for you.   Vocal Latitudes meets Tuesday evenings from September to May in a convenient central location.  Repertoire includes jazz, gospel, African, Canadian, Renaissance, pop, original contemporary.

The Westside Singers – October 30, 2019
The Westside Singers of Calgary is a non-auditioned four part 55 plus choir formed in 1987 by Marilyn Perkins. Now with about 50 members the choir loves to sing and socialize together. Mass Energy Choral Concert – November 27, 2019
A HUGE audience favourite – and for good reason – the annual MASS ENERGY choral concert brings together four of Calgary’s oil patch choirs for both individual performances as well as a gigantic combined-choirs finale. Featuring four choirs: Repsol choir, ConocoPhillips choir, Suncor Energy Choir and TransCanada In Harmony choir. Bring your singing voice and join in.
