This concert features students from the Academy and Advanced Performance Program at Mount Royal University Conservatory.
The program will include the passionate and melancholic Brahms horn trio, which was inspired by the death of Brahms mother. “His mother, Christiane, had died the previous February in Hamburg, and he had missed his chance to see her by two days.” In the trio he seems to have put his goodbye into music which is especially heartfully expressed in the third mov’t – titled Adagio Mesto (sad, pensive).
Also on the program – exhilarating solo performances by some of the Academy and Advanced performance Program top students. Come and be inspired!
