The ProArts@Noon Concert Series is taking a wee break over the holiday season and will not be presenting a performance on Christmas Day - Wednesday, December 25, 2024.
An Ethereal, Enchanting Concert of Festive Favourites on Harps, Violin, Voice & Guitar
Vocal Latitudes is Calgary's non-auditioned world music choir, based out of the Calgary Unitarians. Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings at 7:15, and all are welcome to come try us out on January 14th and January 21st, the first two rehearsals of the winter-spring session. Vocal Latitudes is directed by Krishan Power, with pianist Faye White.
One Voice Chorus (OVC) is a mixed choir for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, two-spirit, and queer singers and their cisgender allies. We are an auditioned choir with a wide-ranging repertoire: from classical to jazz, from madrigals to show tunes, and more!
The Singers, who are all members of the Calgary Burns Club, started in 1994 to provide entertainment to Club members at their regular meetings. The initial focus was to sing the songs of Robert Burns and other traditional songs of Scotland, and while that focus remains, the singers also now sing a variety of other types of song which will entertain our listeners.
This concert features a diverse program of solo piano and piano in Chamber music featuring students from the Mount Royal University Academy and Advanced Performance Program.
Come join the ConocoPhillips choir and Via Voci for a fun concert of uplifting holiday classics! We’ve got everything from songs about a candy covered gingerbread house, chestnuts roasting on an open fire, to joyful Yuletide carols.
Bob and Cathy’s songs appeal to all ages, covering various subjects (such as pianos and cats, rivers and trains, diners and hunger, walking and wanting), and almost always accompanied by a good story! Bob's bass voice and Cathy's soprano combine in a distinctive mix. Today’s concert will feature their original songs along with a few of their favourite covers.
The first of their two programs for ProArts this season will include everything from engaging arias and ensembles by Verdi and Mozart to surprises from the world of music theatre.
Soprano Lauren Woods, tenor Spencer Britten, and accordionist Penny Sanborn come together to present an Italian concert. The Italian music will include traditional pieces like O Sole Mio, arias like Puccini’s O Mio Babbino Caro and duets like Verdi’s Libiamo from La Traviata.
