My name is Benedict Pipestem and I first fell in love with the sound of music when I heard Jimi Hendrix’s “little wing” coming from the radio, as a very young lad.
That’s was almost 24 snows ago and thanks to my grandfather I was able to play my very own guitar.
My big break came in the form of a show at King Eddy’s Tavern, downtown Calgary. It was amazing and I’ll never forget it. I’ve been writing my own music since I was 14 and have some songs on Soundcloud.
I am indigenous with a background in teaching the Dene language, and I incorporate my native experiences into my music and try to share what I know as a human being. Me and my brother/cousin have been playing together since we were teenage Ruffians.
