Each season, Calgary Opera’s Emerging Artist Development Program provides eight young singers with the opportunity to study and perform under a professional staff of teachers and performers.

The program serves as a bridge between academic programs and the world of opera, offering the experience and practical skills necessary to succeed as a self-employed professional in a highly competitive international environment.

Heroes and Heroines Calgary Opera’s innovative Emerging Artist Program presents talented young singers from across Canada as they take to the spotlight of the professional opera scene. This second of their three programs for Pro Arts this season will feature works by and celebrate the recent birthdates of Mozart and Hector Berlioz along with other vocal gems from the operatic repertoire!
