Vibraphonist Jon McCaslin and pianist Sheldon Zandboer join forces for a noon-hour concert of intimate jazz duets.

Inspired by the vibraphone/piano collaborations between Gary Burton and Chick Corea documented on the iconic ECM record “Crystal Silence”,

McCaslin and Zandboer look to explore the sonic possibilities of this instrumental combination within the fine acoustics of the Cathedral Church.

Selected standards from the jazz canon will be used as departure points for collective improvisations that feature both musicians and illuminate the unique combination of the vibraphone and piano in a jazz duet setting.
