Coloratura soprano Kathleen Morrison is a young Canadian talent who has been touted as having a “highly professional voice”(Kultur-Extra Berlin). Known for her powerful voice and dramatic abilities she is quickly becoming a sought-after performer on the international operatic stage. In both Canada and Germany, Kathleen is best known for her portrayals of Mozart’s heroines, where her repertoire spans from the light to dramatic coloratura roles.
Since 2012, Kathleen has been working professionally in Germany, where she currently sings with the Kammeroper Kleinmachnow. Equally at home on the concert stage, Kathleen is often singled out for her distinct vocal flair and rapport with the audience, “Morrison dealt with wonderful ease the longest vocal part, while also flirting with the audience.” (Neues Deutschland). She has performed as a featured soloist with the Brandenburgisches Konzertorchester Eberswalde, Preussisches Kammerorchester, and the Berliner Oratorium Chor.
Kathleen recently performed the Canadian national anthem at the 10th Anniversary of the Canadian Embassy at Leipziger Platz in Berlin. She is the recipient of the Vancouver Opera Guild Career Development Grant (2010). Kathleen has also been featured in The Calgary Sun, The Calgary Herald, and on the CBC Eyeopener in her hometown of Calgary, Alberta celebrating her emerging operatic career.
