Since 2012, Kathleen has been working professionally in Germany, primarily in Berlin. She made her debut with the Club-Theater Berlin, was on roster at the Kammeroper Kleinmachnow, and performed for 2 seasons in the smash hit “Breakin’ Mozart” in the historic Wintergarten Varieté. In November of 2014, Kathleen had the privilege of performing the role of Marzelline in Beethoven’s Fidelio, as part of the official celebrations of the 25th Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall. Her performances have been described as “Highly Professional” (Kultur-Extra), “Powerful, Sexy, and Vocally Dominating” (Pause Magazin), and having “The dual punch of sleek technique and beguiling flare” (Prince George Citizen).
Aside from her work on the operatic stage, she has performed as a featured soloist with the Brandenburgisches Konzertorchester Eberswalde, Preussisches Kammerorchester, and the Berliner Oratorium Chor. She has been featured in The Calgary Sun, The Calgary Herald, the CBC Eyeopener, and others celebrating her operatic career. She is a laureate of the 2010 Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques under the Théâtre Lyrichorégra 20, and had the distinction of being the only singer selected from the West coast of Canada that year.
Kathleen has just returned from a hugely successful 10 city concert tour of China, where she performed for over a combined 1 million people. She has also sang her role debut of Violetta Valery in Verdi’s La Traviata in March of 2018, where Opera Canada described her performance as “Riveting”. She will be reprising the role of Violetta in September 2018 with the Calgary Concert Opera Company.
Kathleen will be appearing with Calgary pianist Mimi Park.
