Hailed as a pianist with “brio and imagination” (The New York Times) and having “speed, clarity, breath and musicality” (La Presse), Canadian pianist Scott MacIsaac has performed in recitals and orchestral engagements in Canada as well as internationally in the USA and Europe.
He made his Carnegie Hall debut in December 2011 and will perform in November, 2012 his debut concerts in Shanghai and Xiamen, China.
Mr. MacIsaac has won numerous top prizes in many competitions, including the Prokofiev Competition, the RBC Concerto Competition, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra Piano Competition, the Federation of Canadian Music Festivals, The Shean Piano Competition, two consecutive Grand Prize Awards in the Canadian Music Competition, and the Kiwanis Music Festival Rose Bowl.
Born in Canada of Chinese and European heritage, Mr. MacIsaac studied under Marilyn Engle at Mount Royal Conservatory and the University of Calgary.
Mr. MacIsaac is currently under the tutelage of Boris Berman at the Yale School of Music.
