The 2012 Soulocentric Performing Arts Festival features an array of talent in a variety of disciplines: dance, theatre, music and multi-media. This is a rare opportunity to witness raw performance as artists experiment and push boundaries within their disciplines. All artists are independently producing original new work in our community and abroad, and represent the wonderful homegrown talent this city has to offer!
Brielle Usher and Emily Richardson – Brielle and Emily have collaborated and written songs together for two years. They have been writing independently since they were seven but enjoy doing so together. The songs they write are things they have experienced and that are very personal. In their songs they use a variety of instruments including: guitar, piano, clarinet (played by Brielle); violin, flute, piccolo (played by Emily) and of course vocals done by both of them. Brielle and Emily were recent finalists in the Calgary Folk Fest songwriting contest.
