Who Cares? is a music collective formed in 2020 between violinist Laura Reid and flutist Jiajia Li. With similar training backgrounds in classical music, the aim of the project was originally to provide personal and musical support for each other during the pandemic while searching for new ways to present classical and contemporary music, and to connect with fellow musicians and music lovers through livestreams and videos. The duo has released two albums on Bandcamp; their music videos have reached thousands of viewers online. 

This program is a reflection of our shared backgrounds as classical musicians who are interested in music exploration through arrangement, improvisation and conversation. Among a mix of classical repertoire and newer works, you will hear a piano solo piece by Canadian composer Ka-nin Chan that we arranged for our duo. This piece is also included in our upcoming third album which will be entirely of Canadian works and released later this year.
