Mountaintop Gospel Choir honours the deep spiritual roots of gospel music and reflects the rich diversity of Calgary’s music community. What began as a small gathering of passionate singers quickly grew into a vibrant collective united by faith, joy, and the shared desire to uplift audiences through song.
Under the Artistic Direction of Brian Farrell, Mountaintop Gospel Choir continues to evolve as a musical force that brings people together across cultures, generations, and beliefs.
Mountaintop Gospel Choir is a dynamic and culturally diverse ensemble of talented and committed singers based in Calgary, Alberta. The choir is dedicated to performing and promoting the roots, culture, and significance of gospel music, with a mission to inspire and uplift audiences through its performances.
Founded in the fall of 2023, the 25-member choir has presented several large-scale concerts, contributing to the appreciation and growth of gospel music in Calgary.
Gospel music, with its rich and multifaceted history, carries themes of celebration, resilience, and healing. Its roots trace back to blues, R&B, soul, spirituals, and traditional hymns. Historically, gospel has played a powerful role in times of social change, and its uplifting message continues to be an important part of Alberta’s musical landscape.
