Calgary Renaissance Singers & Players

The Calgary Renaissance Singers & Players was founded in 1970  to inspire, entertain, and educate audiences and members through the music, culture, and history of the Renaissance. We enrich our performances with works of other periods, right up to the present, that celebrate the spirit of the Renaissance. Audiences frequently comment on our colourful historical costumes which have been recently updated.

Part of our mission is to provide an opportunity for challenge, musical excellence and fun to choir members and our audience.

Prepare to be surprised and entertained at this, only our second performance before a live audience since 2019. We are happy to be back!

“Rediscovering the Renaissance:” a costumed lunch hour performance by the iconic Calgary Renaissance Singers and Players, currently celebrating 50 years young on the YYC choral scene, with music from Medieval plainchant, through signature seasonal Renaissance favourites, a tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II and loved ones lost during the pandemic, plus new music by Ola Geilo, Morten Lauridsen and Kerensa Briggs.

This concert is the seventh in a Series of seven Choral Concerts during 2022 generously sponsored by:
