Clicquot Trio

Clicquot Trio was formed in 2017 to explore and perform classical/jazz fusion repertoire. The trio enjoy repertoire by Claude Bolling, Jacques Loussier, Oscar Peterson, Dave Brubeck etc. who all had very strong classical training.

Claire Butler on piano, Stefano Valdo on bass and Reuben Grendus on drumset are all professionally trained classical musicians with years of performing experience. All three members are in demand as music educators and performers.

Past performances include ‘Bach to Brubeck’, Latin and Love Songs’ and ‘An Evening with Cole Porter’ at the Engineered Air Theatre. Clicquot Trio were guest performers in two of Heritage Park’s ‘Music in the Plaza’ concert series and are regularly invited to perform at private events.

Clicquot Trio will perform Canadiana Suite, an original work by Oscar Peterson. Oscar Peterson wrote the Canadiana Suite as a celebration of his native Canada. The different movements each represent different parts of the Canadian landscape in Music. In his own words, “With a country as large and as full of contrast as Canada, I had a lot of themes to choose from when I wrote the Canadiana Suite. This is my musical portrait of the Canada I love.”
