HYMM is a world fusion band whose focus is to transform traditional melodies from all around the world into modern compositions for their audiences. Based in Calgary, these musicians come from diverse backgrounds (Iran, Syria, Turkey, East of Europe, Chile, and Quebec.), with influences from jazz, blues, Klezmer, and Western pop music. The group was founded in November 2015 by Bijan Maysami and Irfan Aydoğdu. 

For the upcoming ProArt event on July 23, our performance will explore a vibrant musical journey that blends Persian, Latin, Flamenco, and Blues traditions. This cross-cultural fusion aims to highlight the deep emotional textures and rhythmic commonalities shared across these genres.

The set will include a selection of Persian pieces with blues undertones, complemented by Latin and Flamenco rhythms, and classic blues arrangements. This unique combination reflects our collective musical backgrounds and our ongoing collaboration in exploring the intersections of East and West through sound.
