Lukas Sulzer was born on 06-07-1992 in Vienna. Growing up first in Großraming (Upper Austria) and then in the vicinity of St. Valentine’s he attended the Schubert sports district school.
He then completed the Adalbert Stifter High School in Linz, where he graduated in 2010. He currently lives in Raad near St. Valentine. The musical career began for Luke at the age of eight on the trumpet. At age 11 he moved to the piano, where he performed at the music school St. Valentine; he was taught by Ayako Ono. At the Adalbert Stifter High School he received a general musical training and also gained a lot of experience in choral singing.
During 2009 Lukas received additional piano lessons from Wilhelm Trübl as an extraordinary student at the Anton Bruckner Private University. Prizes won at state (provincial) and national competitions, “Prima La Musica” enabled Lukas to make appearances at various events such as the Mozart Festival in Bad Goisern, and “music in the summer” in Kremstal (Phyrn). Last year he attended master classes with renowned Austrian pianist Barbara Moser and Florian Krumpöck. In the fall of 2010 Lukas began studies in “Piano Performance” at the Anton Bruckner Private University.
He also has talent as a composer, and since 2008 he is active as a singer with the choir “ad libitum”.
Felix Hornbachner
Felix Hornbachner was born in 1992 in Waidhofen/Ybbs in Lower Austria. He grew up in Grossraming, Upper Austria, and when six, he took his first piano lessons at the provincial music school. When he was eight he started violin lessons with Mag. Johannes Sulzer, and at age ten he received organ lessons from his grandfather Eduard Sulzer. Later he took formal organ instruction from Mag. Klaus Oberleitner at the provincial music school.
Felix has won several awards at youth music competitions, coming first on the organ at the provincial and federal “Prima la Musica” competitions in Austria. More recently, he has taken private lessons from Dr. Rudolf Scholz, as well as master classes with Olivier Latry, Jon Laukvik and Martin Schmeding.
During his high school years Felix led several music projects with choirs and orchestras and gained his first experience as a conductor. In addition to his busy schedule as organist and conductor, he has sung in various choirs and played viola in a number of ensembles. Felix further demonstrated his versatility by playing jazz, and by creating his own compositions and improvisations. In June 2010, Felix graduated from the Adalbert Stifter High School in Linz, and he expects to commence university-level studies in conducting in Vienna in the fall of 2011.
