Under the direction of Frank Rackow, this mixed-voice community choir has been performing around Calgary for almost 15 years. The group sings everything from madrigals to Motown, and dips into vocal music traditions from across the world.
The title of this concert is ‘Eclectic Avenue’, and the choir will take you on a trip around the world in song, with music from the Renaissance masters, gospel numbers made famous by Sam Cooke and the Golden Gate quartet, a modern composition by Ola Gjelo, Zulu songs from South Africa and much more. This concert also features accompanist Faye White, piano and Robin Tufts, percussion.
Vocal Latitudes was recently featured at the National Music Centre as part of the RBC Backbeat series. The choir has performed several times at the Cathedral Church of the Redeemer as part of the ProArts at Noon series. Vocal Latitudes will present a full evening of music – with special guests Sonabelles A Cappella, on May 11 at Hope Lutheran Church.
This concert is the fourth in a series of seven choral music concerts during 2019 generously sponsored by:
