Anastassiia’s love of dance began with ballet, in Moscow, at age five. After exploring various dance forms, she found her ultimate passion in flamenco. Her most recent studies include four intensive sessions at the famous Amor de Dios academy in Madrid, with flamenco legends La Tati and Merche Esmeralda, and with top modern innovators Manuel & Antonio Reyes, Carmen La Talegona, and Miguel Cañas. Most recently, she’s been performing with contemporary flamenco company Interflamenca in Mexico City. Past highlights include performances with the Calgary International Flamenco Festival, Flamenco Nights with Salero Calo, guest artist with Notas de 4, Fiona Malena Flamenco Ensemble, plus regular appearances at the Pro Arts@Noon concert series. In 2016, with violinist Jonathan Lewis, she formed the contemporary flamenco ensemble, 12 Musas. Presently, she splits her time between Spain, Mexico, and Canada. She also continues to share the flamenco love, teaching with the Fiona Malena Flamenco Academy.
Based in Calgary, Alberta, vocalist Silvia Temis fuses, Latin jazz, Cuban and Flamenco rhythms together for her Notas de 4 project, as well as singing traditional flamenco with many flamenco dance companies across Canada. Currently Silvia is recording her first album with Notas de 4. Born in Mexico, educated in architecture and design, She then began studying Flamenco dancing and then found a fascination for flamenco singing (cante). She further developed her singing with instruction from prominent Flamenco singers (cantaores) such as Miguel Ortega, Rocio Marquez, Esperanza Fernandez, Rosi Navarro “La Divi”, Maria Jose Perez, and at the most prestigious Flamenco school Cristina Heeren with teachers like Jose de la Tomasa, Juan Jose Amador, Manuel Romero and Calixto Sanchez. Silvia has performed extensively with many flamenco dance companies across Canada, like Carmen Romero, Fiona Malena and Esmeralda Enriquez, and Triana Project, also with her fusion project “Notas de 4” in many Albertan music venues. She continues to work passionately in bringing a genuine and personal approach to her singing. www.silviatemis.com
