Join the Scholz Trumpet Quartet for their upcoming performance with the ProArts Society, themed “Trumpet Through Time”. This unique program requires 17 different instruments and takes the audience on a musical journey that highlights trumpet repertoire ranging from the 16th century to the present day. The quartet greatly enjoys discovering new repertoire of all different genres and is looking forward to sharing their passion for brass chamber music with the ProArts audience.
The Scholz Trumpet Quartet was established in 2020 by Richard Scholz along with his three sons Andrew, Mark and Paul. Playing trumpet quartets has always been a bonding activity in the household but became serious in the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, when the family started their series of online concerts. Livestreaming performances became their outlet for musical expression during a time where very few groups were actively performing. As the world opened up, they grasped every opportunity to perform and can be seen playing concerts and recitals all around Alberta.
In their programs they take their audiences on a musical journey through different genres and eras of trumpet repertoire. Throughout their program they perform on 17 different instruments, and love to chat about what makes each one special!
