
Stuart Lloyd (Tenor) was born in Kent, UK, has been singing and performing since he first joined his school chapel choir at the age of 10.
Stuart has an extensive repertoire spanning Opera, Operetta, Oratorio, Musical Theatre, and Lieder. Roles undertaken include Danilo (Merry Widow), Marco (Gondoliers), Tom Jones (Tom Jones), Ralph Rackstraw (HMS Pinafore), Sid El Car (Desert Song), Grosvenor (Patience), A Taylor (Merrie England), Luiz (Gondoliers). He has appeared as the tenor soloist in Stainer’s Crucifixion and Bach’s Christ lag in Todesbanden. Stuart will be appearing in the role of Sir Arthur Sullivan in Morpheus Theatre’s production of Sullivan and Gilbert at the Pumphouse Theatre in May 2016. Since moving to Canada in 2007 he has sung with Okotoks Men’s Chorus, the Calgary Philharmonic Chorus, Foothills Philharmonic Chorus, and Calgary Concert Opera; appeared as a guest with Spiritus Chamber Choir during Calgary Opera’s production of Flying Dutchman, and performed in a Foothills Flood Relief 2013 Concert held in Okotoks.
Stuart studied voice in the UK with Angela Jenkins and John Noble, and currently studies with Frances Ginzer.
Cindy MacDonald (Soprano) was born in Moncton, New Brunswick, and grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she began studying music at the age of 12. From an early age, she participated in the Winnipeg Music Festival, and is the recipient of several awards including the Rainbow Stage Trophy. In 1999 she was awarded Manitoba Provincial solo vocalist.
Cindy has been performing as a soloist at various churches and community theatres across Canada since she was 16.
In 1999 she was featured on CBC radio for her rendition of Morris Surdin’s Prairie Boy. She has also appeared in the chorus with the Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Winnipeg, and with Calgary Concert Opera in the chorus for La Gioconda.
Since moving to Alberta she has sung with the Foothills Philharmonic Chorus, performed at various fundraisers in the foothills, including the Flood Relief 2013 Concert held in Okotoks. Cindy is a local music teacher, and a part-time support clerk for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. She also serves as a founding member of the board of Foothills Philharmonic Chorus.
