TALES – Int’l Storytelling Day Celebration
 

World Storytelling Day is a global celebration of the art of oral storytelling. It is celebrated every year on the spring equinox in the northern hemisphere, the first day of autumn equinox in the southern

World Storytelling Day has its roots in a national day for storytelling in Sweden, circa 1991-2. At that time, an event was organized for March 20 in Sweden called “Alla berättares dag”.

Veteran Storytellers Mary HaysMarie Bryce and Marie Hopkins join (substantial!) forces to present a special World Storytelling Day Concert titled DRAGON TALES!

Storytellers Marie Bryce, Maria Hopkins and Mary Hays and  are all active members of TALES Calgary – The Alberta League Encouraging Storytelling and Storytellers of Canada. They have travelled the world with their stories – Maria has traveled across Canada with the stories of her homeland, Poland, Mary has travelled to Brazil and Marie has studied in Edinburgh at the Scottish Storytelling Centre.

Dragon TALES      To celebrate World Storytelling Day they will tell stories of Dragon’s tears, pearls and conquests!
