“FLUID at Noon” | Two Takes on Truth

Choreographers Kayla Henry and Troy Emery Twigg each seek out personal truth in their performance works.Both choreographies rediscover knowledge through nature, the body, history, heritage, deep listening and questioning.

litahpoyii_2912Troy Emery Twigg (Choreographer) is an artist who works in theatre and dance as a choreographer, performer, storyteller and educator. He is from the Kainai Blackfoot Nation in Southern Alberta. His work has been presented Internationally and nationally from Vancouver (Dancing on the Edge) to Halifax (Prismatic) and almost everywhere in between. Troy has completed a national tour of a new work commissioned by Alberta Aboriginal Arts in 2012. Troy splits his time between Alberta and Toronto where he is on Faculty with Centre for Indigenous Theatre.

photo by_ Mat SimpsonKayla Henry is a 2011 graduate of The School of Contemporary Dancers, in affiliation with the University of Winnipeg where she received her Bachelor of Arts. Since graduation, Kayla has worked closely with many Canadian choreographers and companies, including Canada’s longest-running contemporary dance company, Winnipeg’s Contemporary Dancers (WCD).  Kayla has also worked with other prominent Canadian and international choreographers. Kayla’s national exposure has so far reached Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, Regina, Toronto, Vancouver, Victoria and Winnipeg; and internationally she has worked in Berlin,  Vienna & Graz, Austria and New York City.
