The Westside Singers is an enthusiastic group of seniors who have been singing and performing in the community for over fifteen years. The choir was started in the late 1990’s by one of Calgary’s foremost music educators, Marilyn Perkins. The choir rehearses Monday afternoons at Scarboro United Church September through April and performs in the community at senior residences, nursing homes, the annual Knox Carol Festival, and with a guest choir at their annual spring concert. A highlight of each year is a day trip (and often mini-concert) that is planned for the end of each season. Past trips have included visits to the Chateau Lake Louise, the Banff Centre, Cornerstone Theatre in Canmore and Rosebud Dinner Theatre.

The choir is currently under the direction of Susan Woodward and is accompanied on the piano by Alma Sloboda.
