12 Musas, contemporary Flamenco ensemble

WOW The coming together of some tremendous talent to form a local Flamenco Ensemble had me jumping at the opportunity to present them at ProArts@Noon Concert Series. If you’re a regular, you’ve witnessed all of these artists in one configuration or another over the past couple of years. This will be a special treat! ~Damon Johnston, Artistic Director

12 Musas is a contemporary flamenco ensemble, exploring new ideas within the traditional forms, and moving beyond through improvisation in both music and dance.
Why the name 12 Musas? Many of the traditional flamenco forms are based on a musical measure which is 12 beats long. Our inspiration, our muses, are the 12 beats of the flamenco compas.

Clockwise…
Jonathan Lewis – violin, viola
Anastassiia Moussatova – dance
David Matyas – guitar
Mark Limacher – piano

This concert is the ssecond in a series of five concerts during 2017 generously sponsored by:
