Two wonderful vocalists – Angela Cavar and Michelle Sinclair – will be appearing on Wed. February 08’s ProArts@Noon Concert in a program they are calling “A Few of Our Favourite Things” which will showcase a delightful selection of Arts Songs and Arias, both old and new. The Cathedral is an exquisite venue for the singing voice, should be a treat!

Angela Cavar is a local mezzo-soprano and pianist. Ms. Cavar has degrees in both piano and vocal performance. She has studied with Allen Reiser, Marilyn Engel, Judith Lebane-Kane, Winston Noren and and continues her studies with Philip and Eleanor May. Angela has an eclectic career as a voice and piano teacher, music director for theatre, singer in the salsa band “Banda Brava and accompanist for vocalists and string players. This September Angela will be singing two concerts in Prague.

Michelle Sinclair loves the opportunity to sing at the beautiful Cathedral Church of the Redeemer.  She has studied voice with Judith Lebane-Kane, Elaine Case and Philip and Eleanor May. She has performed many roles for stage and screen in and around Calgary over the years.  Favourites include:  Angelina (Trial by Jury), Rose Maybud (Ruddigore), Mabel (Pirates of Penzance), Hope Harcourt (Anything Goes), Marian (The Music Man), Sarah (Guys and Dolls), Vi (Dusa, Stas, Fish and Vi), and Shelby (Steele Magnolias).  Other favourite roles, past and present, include:  Mom, Choir Director, Teacher, Physiotherapist and Demanding Wife (of 20 years!)  A big thank-you to her long suffering husband Blake and many supportive friends goes here!
