This concert features many pieces from Stephen’s favourite eras. From one of Bach’s most famous Preludes, to Rodrigo’s evocative landscape piece En los trigales, and Brazilian Bossa Nova by Tom Jobim, this program is sure to entertain.
Stephen Demaer is a recent graduate of the Master of Music performance degree from the University of Calgary, specializing in classical guitar covering a wide span of eras. Other recent accomplishments are completing the Royal Conservatory of Music ARCT Performer’s diploma for guitar, and releasing his debut album ‘’Reflections.’ He enjoys performing Baroque, Romantic and Spanish Nationalistic music.
Stephen operates a home studio teaching guitar, piano, ukulele, theory, and history. He has been active as a music educator and guitar specialist for almost a decade. From giving masterclasses at local studios and MRU Conservatory, to serving on the board of the Classical Guitar Society of Calgary, he has been an integral member of the local classical music community.
