Duotessaron is Simon TJ and Darren Young, two fifths of the Calgary progressive rock band Diatessaron.

In 2011, TJ released an album of piano songs entitled Each†Sparrow†. Presented today in its entirety for the first time live, this collection of music explores themes of human vulnerability and loss, with lyrics described by The Gauntlet as “heartfelt, raw, and thought provoking”.

Although Each†Sparrow† was released as a solo record with TJ accompanying himself on the piano, he is joined in this special performance by classical guitarist Darren Young. Young displays his skill as an arranger in this presentation of theEach†Sparrow† songs, faithfully recreating, re-crafting and reimagining TJ’s piano work on his guitar.

The result is a stark yet strikingly intimate sound, both desolate and inviting, with the space between TJ’s voice and Young’s guitar encouraging the audience’s imaginations to soar.
