Lorna MacLachlan, piano and vocals
Lorna has been writing/arranging and performing in Western Canada for over 30 years. after completing a graduate degree in composition, she composed scores for Theatre, Dance and National media companies as well as a variety of music across the spectrum of music genres. Her most recent compositions and performances are brought to life by a Quintet of amazing musicians including Richard Harding, Robin Tufts, Jeremy Coates and Andre Wickenheiser.
As an educator Lorna has also been passionate about music and a strong advocate for the arts in the development of young minds. She has taught music in the public schools for 24 years and has been recognized nationally for her dedication to excellence in music education. She has studied with some of the finest musicians in North America and beyond including David Braid, Maria Schneider, Hugh Fraser, Phil Dwyer, Don Thompson, Misha Mengelberg, Dave Douglas to name a few.

Richard Harding – Saxophone
Richard has performed with many outstanding groups such as the Calgary Jazz Orchestra (CJO), Prime Time Big Band, Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra (CPO), Lorna MacLachlan Quintet, Soul Providers, Penguins on Broadway, TR3, Tim Tamashiro Orchestra and his own jazz quartet. His most recent show experience includes Billie Elliot at Theatre Calgary, The Roy Orbison Hologram Tour, La La Land, Rhapsody In Blue, An American In Paris, Let’s Dance and Sinatra and Beyond with the CPO and Dancers In Love with Decidedly Jazz Danceworks. Richard’s soulful playing can be found on the CD’s of the CJO, Prime Time Big Band, Lorna MacLachlan Quintet, CPO, The Henry Cowell Wind Band, Tim Tamashiro, Terrain, Bluesland and Camie Leard.
Jon Day – trumpet
Jon is an accomplished composer having authored songs for several artists, including the song “La Cubana” recorded by Allistair Elliott – winner of the 2008 Canadian Smooth Jazz Award for Wind Instrumentalist of the Year – on his album, “Urban Nights”. Jon has also composed and orchestrated original orchestral works for numerous full-scale live musical theatre productions including “A Christmas Carol”, “The Grinch”, and “It’s a Wonderful Life”. He also co-wrote, “Change Me”, for which he received a shared nomination for Outstanding Songwriter at the 2001 Prairie Music Awards (now “Western Canadian Music Awards”).
Jon’s latest projects including composing music for a book entitled “A View from Heaven” by author Carolyn Neary. In addition to performing, recording, teaching, and writing, Jon has spent a decade honing his skills as a Music Director and Artistic Director in a variety of large contemporary churches across Canada and the United States. Jon currently resides in Calgary, Alberta where he works in the music industry as a freelance performer, recording artist, educator, arranger, orchestrator, and composer.
