Celebrating their 25th year, the Irish Cultural Society of Calgary Choir is still enthusiastically singing away, bring joy everywhere they go, performing Celtic and Canadian Songs. Adding to their regular schedule of retirement homes and senior residence performances, the Choir was busy over the St. Patrick’s season, singing a various venues.
For their May 29 concert the Irish Cultural Society Choir will be singing a variety of both contemporary and Traditional Irish Songs. The set includes lively songs which will have you tapping your feet, while the slower tunes and ballads you will find very moving, so listen closely to the words. This year we have expanded our repertoire and added some Canadian songs, which we hope you will enjoy. Enhancing the choir are the traditional musical instruments, the bodhran, whistle, fiddle, guitar and piano.
Along with outstanding musicians, strong leadership and welcoming manner, this fun-loving choir plan to be around to celebrate another 25 years.
The Choir is scheduled to perform again this year at the upcoming Water Valley Celtic Festival on June 15, 2019.
