This year the Vocal Academy singers of the Mount Royal Conservatory of Music performed a series of monthly recitals, Christmas programs for Senior Centres, and a spring Opera production Mystery on the Docks, a children’s opera composed by American composer Edward Barnes.

Weekly rehearsals and Master classes by notable recording artists, teachers, singers, actors, choreographers and directors were all part of the Vocal Academy training this year.

The song recital offering by Vocal Academy for Pro Arts Society will include highlights from the various recitals this year, from Sacred Works, Mozart Opera, German lieder to American art song and classic Musical Theatre. Songs of laughter, wonder and praise sung by some of Calgary’s gifted young singers.
