Soprano Lauren Woods, tenor Spencer Britten, and accordionist Penny Sanborn come together to present an Italian concert. The Italian music will include traditional pieces like O Sole Mio, arias like Puccini’s O Mio Babbino Caro and duets like Verdi’s Libiamo from La Traviata.
We welcome Lauren Woods who is not only a favourite soprano in Calgary, but is also a teacher, actor, composer and visual artist. She is currently a featured soloist in Calgary with various choirs including the Juno-nominated Luminous Voices, and holds her Master of Music from McGill University.
Spencer Britten is a Chinese-Canadian artist “oozing with mirth and personality” (Opera Canada), who recently moved to Calgary. His accomplishments have taken him to across the world, and he will be performing this coming season with conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin.
Penny Sanborn performs on accordion as a soloist, in chamber ensembles, and with orchestra. She holds a Master of Music degree in Performance from the University of Calgary, and will be performing as a soloist later this month with the Calgary Civic Symphony.
Enjoy and ciao!
