Repsol Choir

The Repsol Choir, was formed in 2002 and has performed regularly at the ProArts@Noon Concert Series ever since. Choir highlights include the release of a full-length CD “Wreath of Carols” and their annual performance in the “Mass Energy” choir concert each December.

A recreational choir made up of Repsol employees, retirees, and friends from the community, new members are always welcome.

While the choir takes their role as company ambassador seriously, their focus is on sharing their love of music and having fun.

Since the fall of 2015, the Repsol choir has been under the direction of musicologist Bruce Petherick, an internationally renowned musician, composer, educator and musicologist, originally from Melbourne, Australia, who now calls Canada home. Alberta artist Ron Proctor has accompanied on piano since the choir’s conception 17 years ago.

This four-part chorus doesn’t shy away from complex arrangements and sings everything from contemporary favourites to classical compositions.   In additional to more traditional jazz and folk pieces, the Spring 2019 season features Freddie Mercury’s Bohemian Rhapsody arranged by Mark Brymer,  U2 song MLK arranged by Bob Chilcott, and a Mr. Rogers medley arranged by the choir’s director, Bruce Petherick.
